
Consumer Services can be a real challenge to collect efficiently because of the small balances. On the plus side, usually the consumer is pretty motivated to get the problem resolved. With consumer services if I want to keep watching the cable, eventually I’m going to have to pay the bill.
Our strategy is of course heavily automated. The trick is to reach those individuals where a little persuasion will make all the difference and the predictive dialer is a critical tool in this process. We spend a lot of time optimizing our dialer programs and it pays off with better performance.
But ultimately we feel it comes down to the law of averages. If on average we make a lot of calls, we’ll make a lot of right party contacts and those contacts lead to money coming in.
